ZULU LOUNGE was a Juke Joint founded by Isaac Evitts, in Tulsa Oklahoma, in the Greenwood district( BLACK WALL STREET), during the early 1920's.

In the early 1920's, the Greenwood district in Tulsa, was an affluent black-owned neighborhood commonly referred to as Black Wall Street. The greenwood district covered more than 35 city blocks. African americans during that time couldn't shop in white-owned stores, because of segregation. So they spent their money in their own community, which helped support and build up the community. The greenwood district had grocery stores, cafes, clothiers, beauty salons, movie theaters, doctors, a library, two-newspapers, private airplanes, pool halls, savings and loans, hotels, law offices, tailors, restaurants etc...An estimated 10,000 people lived in area.

Dancing shields are traditionally smaller than battle shields, as they are held in one hand while performing a dance. Zulu people are a ethnic group native to southern africa. The Zulu people are the largest ethnic group and nation in South Africa.
The youth blend hooded sweatshirt is made of ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that feels wonderful against the skin. The garment is 50% cotton 50% polyester with reduced lint buildup. This makes an excellent combination for printing. The front has a kangaroo pocket big enough for both hands. The neck is reinforced with twill taping.
