ZULU LOUNGE was a Juke Joint founded by Isaac Evitts, in Tulsa Oklahoma, in the Greenwood district(BLACK WALL STREET), during the early 1920's.

In early 1920's, the Greenwood district is Tulsa, was an affluent black-owned neighborhood commonly referred to as Black Wall Street. The greenwood district covered more than 35 city blocks. African americans during that time couldn't shop in white-owned stores, because of segregation. So they spent their money in their own community, which helped support and build up their community. The greenwood district had grocery stores, cafes, clothiers, beauty salons, movie theaters, doctors, a library, two newspapers, private airplanes, pool halls, savings and loans, hotels, law offices, tailors, restaurants etc....An estimated 10,000 people lived in the area.
